Merry Christmas & Season's Greetings Ya'all ! :-)

'Tis the season to be jolly! Warning: Cheesy post ahead :D

As a kid I totally loved Christmas trees -- the twinkling lights, the pretty decorations, colorfully wrapped up presents, and the angel or star at the top. It was fascinating and almost magical. Enid Blyton played a hugely influential role in keeping my childhood magical and in fantasy land for the times I lost myself in her wonderful words. My close friends would invite me over for X'mas and it was such fun! There are tons of wonderful, cherished memories associated with this festival for me.

In my teens, this classic song 'Do They Know Its Christmas?' by Band Aid was very special. A song I love till date. It was recorded for the starving children in Africa and had the biggest bands and singers of the 1980s contributing and being a part of it.

The other carol that I learnt at school choir went something like this:
"Christmas time is a jolly time, there are lots of things to be done,
And putting the decorations up, is lots and lots of fun!"

My first tryst with snow was only as an adult when I was visiting the USA. I was excited that my first Christmas there was going to be a white one. Alas, the anti-climax was that it didn't snow in December at all! There was some snowfall only toward end January. After reading all about snowflakes-their shapes, snow angels, and my comic heroes (like Calvin, Snoopy and gang) make snowmen and have snowball fights, snow didn't impress me much. It was pretty much just cold ice, and not fluffy and soft as I'd always imagined! :P

A very beary Christmas to everyone out there! Its the time to snuggle up to your
loved ones and tell them how much you love them. Well, I don't believe there's a special time or day to do that, it should be done as often as possible, and then some more! :-) But as they say, 'tis the season to be jolly', so ho ho ho!

Special wishes go out to a few of my friends who have officially ventured into couplehood or couple status :)) -- RT, Sash, and also SG, you can count yourself in here too! :D There's also Virdi & Trups and many others not on blogistan -- will deliver those wishes personally :-)

Things haven't been going great for myself lately, and I need to remind myself to keep them spirits up, so here's wishing me, my family and friends some peace, light, and good cheer for the new year ahead.

After an overload of "Xmassy" pics, all I'd like to end with this:

Hallelujah!! :D

Dhoom Dhamaka? More like Damp Squib!

This time it wasn’t a blind date, more like blind hate! Ah well, nothing extreme actually, Dhoom 2 hardly warrants anything extreme, other than of course, the screams that Hrithik evoked each time he showed up. :D

This movie totally defies any logic whatsoever. There are no explanations for almost any of the sequence of events, but Dhoom never claimed to be an intelligent film when its tom-tommed to be all about bikes and babes.

Review of the cast

Hrithik: Hunkiest of all of them hunks! Helllooo sailor! :D

Bips: Bootylicious bod!

Baby B: Bearded and Bleh!!

Uday Chopra: Ughhh!!

Ash: Last and the least impressive, and ATROCIOUS!

Did I mention how hot Hrithik looked? Hehehehe! The pirate look so suited him. My straight guy cousin says Hrithik’s so hot, even straight guys are keeling over at the way he looks in this movie.

A for Amazing Aryan…loved that signature A font. Neat. Absurd Ash and her nonacting antics were too funny to watch. Bips and Hrithik are way cool, are drenched in attitude from head to toe, and should have been paired up. Ash tries way too hard and it shows. And how. Tsk tsk. Her walk down the boardwalk by the boats was hilarious. Too-high heels don’t do nothing for her really awkward poses. It was a boardwalk, not a ramp, sweetheart! Baby B looked like a fat cow next to toned Hrithik. Why, o why did they make him dance in a sequence soon after Dhoom Again? Sad, real sad indeed. Both Ash and Baby B can commiserate and cry on each other’s shoulders. Is that what they were doing in temples across India? :D

Review of the movie

Sheer Bakwaaaaaaaaas! :D

Even without the cool stunts, people in the theater were whistling whenever Hrithik appeared on the big screen. All he had to do was walk into the frame and the ceetees were bajaoing! :D

Music--Terrrrrible, horrrrrible songs barring Dhoom Again. Crazy Kiya Re really got my goat when it appeared in tv trailors, but guess it grows on you eventually. Was speechless during the Uday Chopra song on the beach…gawwwwddd! What was that??? Horrrrrendous!

All in all, MTV’s Ghoom is far superior to its non-spoofed version! ;)
